Many of you may or may not know that along with photography and co-creating Learn Shoot Inspire, I also worked a full time desk job for the last 8 years.  In June of this year, I was laid off my full time job due to the “restructuring of business needs”.  Luckily I knew the lay off was coming and it was a very welcomed change.  Not only had I not been happy for many years there but I had also come to feel very passionately for my photography career (which I was unable to fully commit to due to working full time) and missed out on precious time with my children.  Starting 6/30/12, I became a full time LSI employee, a semi-full time photographer and a full time mommy.  I have NEVER been more happy in my life and I wake up every morning excited to do my “job”.  I am able to work for LSI from the comfort of my own couch (which is new and super comfy) but I am also able to fulfill my passion for photography and getting to work with my fabulous clients as well.  To top this all off, I also get to be home with my daughters, which has always been my dream and now it is finally happening.  I am HERE with them.  This is crazy to me.  Crazy good.  Both of my girls have been sick this week (and me too) and it has been so amazing that I could care for them myself.  I didn’t have to feel guilty taking time off work or sending them to daycare feeling less than 100%…I could let them sleep in, cook them a nice breakfast and let them lounge around the house in their jammies.

Admittedly today has been rough.  The 3 of us aren’t feeling so good.  I needed a little mommy time to get some work done and I decided to set the water table up and let them play in the summer heat on the patio.  They were SO excited.  I was SO excited.  That excitement lasted all of about 7 minutes before they said “we are bored and want to come back inside”.  It also included big sister punching baby sister because she took her toy.  Little sister may or may not have bitten her and stolen said toy back.  Both ended up crying at the patio door and “mommy time” abruptly ended.

But you know what?  I am still blessed.  I am still lucky to be home with my babies and I am so HAPPY to say that I LOVE my job(s).  Huge thank you to J of LSI for making my dream come true.  He will think this is super cheesy and lame but without him, I wouldn’t be on my couch typing this blog post.  I am forever thankful for “meeting” him 2 years ago.  My life has changed so much in the direction I always wanted since then.
